My hero is my basketball coach. He taught me everything I know. He taught me how to dribble. He taught me how to shoot layups. He even taught me how to do the spider drill. His name is Bryan.
Yes, Bryan is a basketball coach. But he’s also so much more than that. He’s a mentor, an empathic soul, and a friendly face when you need it most. I think kids have a way of feeling these things. I’m sure our son did and still does.
Our son is now 9 years old and continues to play basketball every day. And we’re delighted to find that the confidence he’s achieved on the court has carried through to other aspects of his life.

Bryan Hergenroether is one of a kind. He has been a trusted mentor to my 3 sons ages 14, 12, 9, almost from the moment we first met him 7 years ago. He uses his singular skill as a sports coach to develop kids character, self awareness, and integrity. He is fun, kind, thoughtful, intuitive, insightful, caring. He loves his nature and is highly experienced leading wilderness trips and sharing his love of the outdoors. I would send my boys anywhere with Bryan and know they would be happy and better for it.

I have known Bryan since 2015 and he has been in my corner ever since. He is very wise about the game of basketball and taught me a lot of things that I tried applying to my game. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to both the mental and physical aspects of basketball. He is a tremendous teacher and mentor that will support anyone in sports and life. Even though I stopped playing basketball and am now a distance runner he continues to be a great mentor and life coach for me. Every time we communicate I learn something new about life. I have learned so much from him. We have been together through thick and thin. I started training with him when I was in fifth grade and now I am going into my senior year of high school, and we have always had a strong relationship. Bryan is someone that I am truly blessed to know and I am thankful for the times we have shared and for the lessons I have learned from him.
